Hi,

I have been having what seems like anxiety since last summer which started with me getting really dizzy all of a sudden. I have dealt quite well throughout the year. Recently however I started having the same thoughts of brain tumor, brain aneurysm, etc. and the symptoms of headaches and dizziness and was put on zoloft. I have also started having eye pressure/pain mainly in my right eye, but sometimes also in my left. I also have a bit blurriness in the distance with my right eye. I had an MRI with contrast done last fall and nothing was found wrong but I didn't have the eye pressure/pain back then. I am going to the eye doctor sometime soon to have it checked out. Can anxiety cause eye pressure/pain? I'm also reading a lot of books and hopefully seeing a psychiatrist to get to the bottom of this issue.

Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to Healing Well and the A & P forum. I am Kitt.

This is almost a typical story of the way generalized anxiety presents these days.   Psychotherapy can help as well as medication. :)

I would recommend keeping that appointment with the eye Doctor. I am also very happy to hear you are being your own advocate and seeking out a psychiatrist.

You have joined a wonderful and caring forum and the members here know what your going through so please stay with us and keep posting.

Again a Warm Welcome.

Hi.  Yes, anxiety can "show it's face" in many different ways.  While you wait to see a doctor, I would try to relax by doing some deep breathing, taking warm baths, anything.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you very much for your responses. Right now the pressure is a bit better. I have another question. I feel my pulse throughout my body, especially when I'm lying down and especially in the head. Can this also be caused by anxiety? I'm doing deep breathing exercises, reading such books as "Stop Worrying about Your Health" and taking nice relaxing baths.

Thank you for the support.

Yes, this is another thing you may notice with anxiety. Another thing that would cause this phenomenon would be head trauma.

You do not mention that you have had any head injuries recently say within the last 4-6 weeks.

Take care and keep posting.

Nope, I did not have any head trauma. I measured my blood pressure and if I'm calm its normal (below 120/80) so I don't know why I can feel the pulse in my head.

Thank you for your help!
