I have health anxiety and always think the worst. My roommate at work suggested that I read a book that will let me know I'm ok. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Good Morning Greyhound

Here are a couple of suggestions:

The Hypochondriac's Handbook, Wendy Marston ~ Author

Treating Health Anxiety: A Cognitive-Behavioral Approach, Steven Taylor ~ Author

Take care and keep posting as you are part of this wonderful family.

That is great Kitt.  I am interested in finding these books also.  My health anxiety is feeling like it's at it's worst right now, and I want to change that.  I feel like I have multiple diseases, and it is scary.  I went through this before, but it started to go away when I started to feel better.  Now that I am having a huge set back, of course, my health anxiety is back...worse than ever too.  I feel like if I am starting to feel bad again, it must be more than anxiety...UGH.

So yes, I am thrilled that greyhound asked this question!!! yeah

I don't like the word hypochondriac either...I feel like that is a bad word...it's hard to explain, but I too prefer health anxiety! Hypochondriac makes it sound wrong, or something...like I said, hard to explain!!! LOL

I agree re the words, but the dang authors are just getting caught up with us. It is hard for the public to change the verbiage they are used to.

Now I am certifiable and have a certificate............yehaaaaaaaa lol
