First off I want to say I hope you are doing well Tammy!!! Getting teeth pulled can be a bad thing.

I had 2 of my wisdom teeth taken out today and I was wide awake for, because I am much more afraid of being put to sleep than the noise and pain.
Well the top one came out no problem but the bottom one was bad. It was impacted and very difficult to get out. In fact the doc had to break it in many many pieces to get it out. Now I am at home swollen and in some pain.
I am also afriad to take pain pills cause I am afriad they will make me feel weird or kill some how. I know that my anxiety talking.
Hoever. Now I am home and in pain but I keep trying to sleep and cant, cause I keep jumping up at any little nosie or sharp pain or I wake up cause I start thinking my heart is pounding way to hard!  I also am getting my anxiety shakes. Where I just keep shaking and cant stop or the sweats. But My heart keeps feeling like it is pounding way to hard. I wish I could just calm down.
I dont have any meds right now to help me calm down and it is stressing me out.
Any ideas ? Any tips?
Thanks Ya'll

Hey there crying...thanks a lot for wishing me well. I agree, I am much to scared to get put to sleep, so I too stay awake. It is evening now though, and I am feeling well. A tiny bit sore, but overall well.

I am sorry you are feeling so crappy. Unfortunetly, I don't have advice for you, as I am having the same issues, and my doctor ever so nicely took my Xanax away, which is what kept me level...just .25 mg daily kept me going, and he won't give me that. I have the same issues as you though, I get the shaky thing going on, and I feel like my heart is beating way too fast and hard. It is scary. I really wish I had better answers for you. Maybe someone will and I can read too.

I am also on Lexapro, but it just got upped as of last night, so I have to wait a bit to see if that works for me.

Can I ask...why are you not on meds??? Just curious! In my honest opinion, they work. They are very helpful...at least for me.

Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts!!! MUCH APPRICIATED! I truly hope you feel better soon!!!!

I am NOT weak, I am just down right now.  I am doing what it takes to get my life back!!!

Best Wishes to all...Tammy

Crying,

I'm sorry that you are going through such a rough time.  You went through a pretty traumatic experience with getting your teeth pulled while you were awake, so I imagine that is why you are feeling a bit more anxious right now.  I have the same issues with pain meds too, so I understand that.  Did the doc tell you to use heat or cold to relieve pain?  As for the anxiety, do you know cbt? Try and relax the best you can, deep breathing always helps me.  You will get through this, your nerves are probably sensititzed from what you went through and will calm down.  I do hope you will feel better very soon!

I thought I would be able to get threw the appt fine but it was sooo rough and the recover is pretty bad too. But I am feeling better today

Hey Crying,

Ice to that jaw will help with the swelling and one of the OTC Motrins or Aleve should give you some pain relieve if you can take those NSAIDS.

Take care of you. You are an important member of our family. Hugs to you.
