:-)  My MD prescribed taking 1 mg of Klonopin every 8 hours as needed for anxiety.   I am scared to take it b/c 1) it can become habit forming, and 2) I heard it can make you depressed (which I am not--just a very anxious person).....
I experience serious chest/stomach pains (to the point MD thinks I have an ulcer b/c of my anxiety, and my PT thinks I have some bulging discs in my mid-back)----that I take Klonopin b/c it helps with the pain (isn't that weird?).
I only take the Klonopin 'as needed'---maybe once a day, but not always once a day.  It definetly helps me sleep (b/c I usually take it in the afternoon)----but, I am wondering what your experiences have been with this medication.  I know everyone is different, but, you have to understand......I have grown up in a family that believes in "holistic" approaches to everything----and I am afraid of medication......
thanks---- :-)

I was prescribed 1 mg every 8 hours as needed as well. I've had the prescription for 2 months and have only taken 4 pills. I really only take it as needed. It helps my anxiety so much.
As long as you don't abuse it, you don't have to worry about becoming addictive.
I've never had any side effects from this medication except sleeping good and having relief from panic/anxiety.
And just as a side note, I have bipolar depression and the klonopin has never made that worse. My pdoc actually told me 2 days ago that the depression side effect is very rare from this medication.
If it helps, don't be afraid to take it.

I used Klonopin for a short time and found it to be ok, but I feel the Valium, longer acting works best for me.

Take care.
