My "anti-authority" side is just chomping at the bit wanting to make a random outburst here, but I will refrain! haha

Fact of the matter is, colorful language has its place, but so does civilized discourse. In my blog I sometimes get too casual, I think, and in some contexts that's fine but in others it's not. Generally message boards like this one call for more toned down language. Certain words are very emotional by nature, and should probably be avoided when discussing these issues. Think of it as a calming effect...never underestimate the power of the written word.

And then there's the kid thing, too, I guess.

Thank you Debaser. I think it certainly depends on the situation and consideration for the other people.  Administration sets the rules and guidelines for the protection and safety of all.

I probably know cuss words people have never heard but I refrain from using them in the wrong company.  yeah

Lyn, Debaser and Kitt have all made excellent points. 'Blue' Language has its place, but its place is not on public message forums where children can read it. There is also the angle that some people are offended by such words and this might put them off posting in the future. Consider also that a swear word might have one meaning for you, but means something completely different to someone else.
