Sometimes we in all our most thought out desires and plans WANT and NEED to do something.....anything to try to better our lives.........get rid of the a/p like NOW but it cannot be helped IF we just cannot do it ....face it that day ...put it off .....for whatever reason
:-)

Know that you have tried your best

Know you have gone in with the best intentions yet still you cannot do it or fix it .........THEN.........another time Perhaps

To feel guilty ONLY adds fuel the fiery of anxiety IMHO..............give it your best shot .....thats all ANYONE can do ..........At least you have tried .........

Take small steps not expect to leap over and above all it wont work it will bite you in the behind and set you back in the longrun I truly believe................ nono

Above all DO NOT feel you will be judged if you say you are going to do something or try something and just cannot do it nono  IT Happens to us all at one point or another.......

yeah MOST importantly know that your Healing Well " Family" is here we DO get it ..............we do understand and we will be beside you, behind you, in your corner NO matter what the problem may be ................JUST reach out .......we are here and open 24/7    tongue ........Luvs to all ...........Your HW Family

Wow, it's like you are talking directly to me! I have been going through a situation and this totally helps. Thanks. I have been reminded of this by several good friends of mine, and now seeing it on here for a reminder! So strange though. Almost like you read my mind or something. But, this 100% relates to my current situation and I appreciate it! Thanks!

Big Sis,

That was great.  I have learned that guilt is a wasted emotion.  I still get caught up in it at times but my best advice, Be Patient with Yourself.

Hugs to you Big Sis

Lil Sis out. yeah    yeah   yeah   yeah    yeah   yeah   yeah

That was excellent Lyn,

A great inspiration for all, and totally true.

there is times when we can't acomplish the goals we want to acomplish, but as you said feeling guilty about not being able to do it adds to the fire.

I will be sure to read your post when ever i feel i'elet myself down by not doing what i wanted to achieve.

Thanks heaps.

ugh, guilt. Once of the toughest things to overcome. A guilty conscious. Every year I'm improving, but its hard. You're absolutely true, its very self defeating.

I wrote a piece on this subject not too awfully long ago:

Anyway, agreed. Guilt is negative and incredibly consuming.

Guilt seems to be my problem right now......and I know it's taking it's toll on DH! But, I still feel that if I don't accomplish "a, b, or c" then, I have incredibly guilty feelings.... I don't know why, except---I hae always felt that I needed to prove myself---growing up, in my profession, as a mother, now----as a person...WHY? It does take it's toll on me! It is now!

Wow, Lyn - you really nailed it.  I've been feeling the guilt for several reasons for some time now and it's so hard to let go of it.  Thank you for writing such an inspiring post.

I think, as everyone has said, that you hit the nail on the head. My therapist says not to be too hard on yourself. He said if we find ourselves using words such as "should" and "must", we have to try not to. By using these words we are setting ourselves a line in the sand with fail on one side and succeed on the other, when it is not so at all. No such word as failure just experience is what my CBT man told me! Here, here!

To me guilt is such a wasted emotion, but why is it that I can't over come alot of my past guilt? I mean what do I do with the feelings? Just bolck the out of my mind? I have tried to wipe them from my mind but they still seem to be present. I feel that guilt devil really fuels my anxiety and depression. Allmixedup

I find this to be a really hard thing to over come of guilt in my past but to understand the reasons of why and how it must be has let me be free of guilt for I know it was for the better, but even so I know that I have not stopped a thing in the long run but just maybe I did help in someways for those that know me and my past
