Hey guys

I'm wondering if I can start a discussion again that I tried when I first got here but it was completely shut down by the moderators. I'll try to be clean but that probably won't matter. It's about anxiety/panic and sex. For me there is a clear causal relationship between sexual activity and my bad days of pain and loss of concentration and all that other fun stuff we experience. I'm asking you guys whether you've ever noticed that about yourself. I doubt anyone has noticed it without being questioned about it, but please give some serious consideration to it before dismissing the question.

Please give me some feedback, I don't care whether it's positive or negative. Menstrual cycle stuff that's been talked about in other topics shouldn't apply here because I am a dude, but any interesting remarks are good.

(I'm sorry that I haven't given much detail here, but we need to be careful as there are kids who read the boards.)

A reader suggested it so I plan on doing an "open forum" type of thing on my blog next Monday. URL is in the signature.

el_pato,

Good Morning. You are right this is a topic that is difficult to be forthright about due to the younger people who have access to the site.

I will say this................Various aspects of anxiety are historically considered in SD, particularly the vicious circle of anxiety/dysfunction/performance anxiety.  So yes I feel that anxiety is a factor in  how we deal with intimacy.

I would certainly check out Debaser's blog.  He has a very interesting blog. :)

Take care.

sweet! thanks debaser.

for me I wasn't talking about intimacy or even anything psychological, but rather the biochemical hijinks that could be going on. But then again everything is connected to everything else, so I'd expect to see people talking about that too.

Thanks again, and I'll try extra hard to survive this weekend for Monday.

Well, sorry...

But, uh, I'm not doing the blog anymore. Well I will be, but I'm not writing about A/P disorder anymore. It's a post I would have liked to have done. Really sorry. You might surf some anxiety blogs (some are on my sidebar but won't be for very long) and ask the authors to do a post on it.

There are also other forums that are a little more open, but I believe I'm not allowed to mention them here. You can e-mail me if you like.

Sorry El,

Misunderstood the question..............the AD's are notorious for reaking havoc with your libdo.  Lots of info out there on the net and I have seen it in other forums as well so yes lots of people have this very issue.

I hope this helps you with your question. :-)

aw that's too bad debaser. But it's ok you know I never expected an easy answer to my problems, I just wanted to see if anyone else had the symptoms I do, because it's kind of hard for me to relate to most of the people on these boards as I often take a different view of things from what others do. Ultimately I don't think we would have even gotten anywhere with a discussion save support from each other. It's hard to do anything without money and your own lab. But don't be surprised if I ask you later for a link to those other sites! Right now I am ok, though, and too busy to be interested in interesting things.

To the other dudes - yeah that's interesting about AD interfering with libido. That's separate from my deal, kind of opposite actually - I'm 20 so I shouldn't have those kind of problems. It's almost like my libido is interfering with my symptoms because in the past year or so I've felt normal when I abstained for a week. Gotta stop there before it gets detailed.

Whatever. We'll just have to see what happens. Life is more interesting when you do not understand everything.
