I only waited 2 MONTHS to get in and see him.   He was a lot nicer than the 1st guy I saw.  Anyway----because of my family's history with Colon Cancer and Polyps---and some symptoms of "irritable bowel stuff"  I have scheduled a colonoscopy for myself.  Because of the pain I have been feeling in my sternum/mid back and chest.  He will also do an endoscopy to rule anything out.  Then, we go from there!  In the meantime---I get to take some anti-spasmotic drug to try and help with the pains I am feeling after I eat, all day.  He's not sure that will help----but, it could.

(if you have been on this board lately---you would have read about my trials/tribulations with my GI problems and also my "fun" with GI specialist #1 "it's all in your head"----trying to find someone who would see me).

I feel OK with the whole thing-----but, I still don't feel GREAT physically (the pain, etc...).  But hey!  It's a start right?    I was very anxious this morning about the whole thing---but, kept telling myself on the way up there that I am my own ADVOCATE for my health (thanks Kitt and Lyn for your encouragement the other day)---and that no one can do this for me---so, get some 'guts' (no pun intended) and go there---for yourself!

Now---I only have ~2 weeks until these procedures.

NICE! great job getting in there. I know it's tough, and you did a great job. Even though you feel physical pain, smile! You did awesome!...

thanks Dan! It was hard driving there (just because I didn't want to go in there)---but, I just kept telling myself that I AM MY ADVOCATE.....no one else can be-----and practiced my breathing while in the car---and in the waiting room---and hopefully, it went alright!

Thanks for your support!

Wow, Laurel - great job!  Isn't it awesome when you are you're own advocate and you finally start getting results.  Even I don't want anything to be wrong with you, I'm kind of hoping they find something that will explain wht has been happening to you.

I wish you the best and let us know what the results.

Lots of (((((HUGS)))))) for you.

thanks Wen! yes, I agree---I don't want anything to be wrong with me either--but, if they said, "oh you have gastritis! This is what you do".. then, that's cool! I just want to know! When you go in, and they say, "everything is NORMAL!" that is when it's like, "I know I am feeling this---it's NOT in my head people"! If it something worse---well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there---but, I just saw a post on the GERD forum about something pertaining to muscle spasms that sounds like something I am experiencing-----I am hoping the meds he gave me for muscle spasms helps---and if it does---COOL! ;)

Then, I can move on with my life---and focus on my 'health anxiety'---and getting better! Sometimes having physical ailments along with mind-ailments is tiring-----

Hugs back at ya'!

Who hooooooo, way to go, yes your a true advocate and I do believe you did one terrific job.  You got an appointment for your scopes as well as a med to try.

No worry about the scopes, the med works well and most people remember some of the procedure but they did not care to much.  I know I floated through my scope.

So you keep right on with what your doing and keep talking to us. Your an inspiration to everyone here.

Gentle Hugs to you my friend.
