Hello everyone. I just joined yesterday, and I am already loving this place. There are some really wonderful people here. My name is Anne, and I suffer from depression & anxiety/panic attacks. I live in Kentucky. I am stuck in a hard spot, because I just got married in May, which meant that I lost my insurance (I was on my moms). My husband can't get insurance at his job, and it's to expensive for me to get. Luckily our daughter can stay on my mothers. The government says we make to much to get assistance, but yet we don't make enough to afford to get it on our own. I have been having to pay alot of money for my anxiety med's, but I can't afford to stay on my Cymbalta. I don't know what resources are out there, because I am the type of person who doesn't like to ask for help. It has gotten to the point that my anxiety/depression is taking over my life. I don't have friends anymore, so the only person I can turn to is my husband. My father is not around, and my mom just had a new baby, which means me and her grandaughter are not priority. I am lonely. I am only 21 years old, and I work full time and go to school full time. If anyone out there has any type of resources for me, or knows of any programs to help with med's, then please let me know.

Well, programs vary by state. Kentucky isn't particularly prosperous so they may indeed have some kind of assistance for you. As far as drugs go, I know it's expensive to see the doctor but there may be something generic you can switch to, or perhaps he can give you samples. Your university doesn't offer affordable health insurance? Mine did and I live in Texas: the "every man for himself" state.

Hi Anne,

Perhaps you could look at changing to a med that is very similar to Cymbalta, as your correct it is very expensive. It is $80.00 for one month here in MN.  I have to pay for it as insurance won't pay for that one.

Walmart has a program, the $4.00 per RX, and they have some of the AD's on their formulary.  Talk with your prescribing physician and see what he/she says.

Also the Pharmaceutical companies will supply meds in a hardship case but I do not know the  eligibility requirements.

I hope you can find some help soon.  Take care and keep  posting.
