mad   Yet, another crappy week!  Since last week (around Thanksgiving)---I have been experiencing really BAD pain in my right shoulder blade area--around to the front of my ribs!  Also, my right arm is going numb sometimes, and my right hand gets COLD!  My left arm/hand are OK, it's just my right side!
It's hard to sleep on my back and right side---
So, I found some interesting things on a "rhomboid strain" in the Chronic Pain forum---I thought---"Hmmm... this is interesting....could it be possible?"   But-----the pain takes over---and I get all anxious and angry about it!
My DH thinks I am looking for another 'health issue' to focus on.....but, if the pain is there---how can I be looking?  It's not far honey!  OMG----this is just crazy!
I go to PT next week for my back problems---but, until then---it's just pain!  I am afraid to call my MD b/c I call them alot about different things, and am thinking---maybe I should see what the PT thinks---then, call him?  I don't know.......
I'm just so sad sad    confused confused    and mad mad   all at the same time!

First of all I have to ask.........what is it you want to call your Doctor ?  lol.  I have called mine a few names that I cannot post here nono

Could your arm pain be related to your back problem or is it something brand new ?  I believe that if you feel it is possibly something serious you should bite the bullet and call your physician.

If it is a sx you have with your anxiety, then refocus and do whatever you practice to take your mind off the pain and anxiety that may go together.

The holidays are coming up and many are going to find the anxiety rising right along with the anxiety the physical sx will also become more evident.

I hope you find relief from the pain and keep posting, we are here for you.

Take care

LOL---my primary MD is a good guy----but, I feel guilty for calling all of the time. I know I shouldn't, but that is ME---GUILT-RIDDEN all of the time (in almost all situations)........I just feel that if I call and get to see him---that he will just throw another "pill" at me--and I don't want pills---I want tests and answers! That's not too much to ask---is it? LOL!

I am having a hard time figuring out if this is anxiety-induced or not---b/c I do find myself in a constant state of "constriction" with my back muscles----I am always "tense" in my back----always----I catch myself tense--then, try to drop my shoulders to relax---but, if the anxiety brought it on----the pain is real. I try to breathe, meditate everyday----but, the pain is there-------OY!

Why is this so hard? SIGH!

Thank you for listening Kitt! YOu are a gem!

I understand your frustration with this pain.  I have irritable bowel syndrome and sometimes the pain is just unbearable and I start thinking oh my god I cannot live with this anymore.  Problem is that makes the pain worse because I start to panic.  Panic = worse pain.  Well sod!!!!!

It's not fair is it and I'm sorry you are having such a rough time.  It could well be the anxiety making it worse or it could be a real problem.  Don't let a doctor make you feel stupid.  Ever.  If you think it's serious and want tests then go for it.  Nothing is more importantthan peace of mind (and sound health).

In the mean time try and breathe through the pain (I know, I know, easier said than done!!) but anxiety will not help the problem.  Try some relaxation on your shoulder areas, lavender oil, gentle massage maybe and heat packs...I hope you are feeling better soon, remeber, you're not alone in this :-)

I alone can do this, but I cannot do it alone.

thank you Meg for your response! I just found out a couple weeks ago (via colon/endoscopies) that I probably have IBS (I was kind of 'out of it' but GI specialist told my DH that's what he thinks I have)---so, on top of IBS---and trying to figure that out---I have this 'right upper quadrant pain"------OY! I will be conscious of my breathing, meditation--------I do try to relax---but, maybe I'm not trying hard enough......

Hi. My name is Cari, I'm 39 and new to these forums. I've been going through similar problems as some of you. I have severe stomach pain (upper R quadrant, lower back), cramping, constipation (but when I do go my bowel movements are soft), and my stomach is constantly rumbling. Also, all of my muscles & joints ache all the time. I feel like my body is toxic. Does this sound like IBS?? I've seen a GI Dr. and had several tests done (a few to see if I have parasites-yikes!), but haven't heard back from her yet & it's been 2 weeks. I hate this waiting game!! I keep thinking my stomach is going to explode or something. I know 2 people who've had that problem (they're bowels leaked into their stomachs) and, needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I'm scared. I want to know what is going on and I've been to my Dr. numerous times (she keeps saying it's all related to my anxiety), as well as the no avail. Ugh!! Does anyone have any suggestions on something I can take to detoxify my system??? I need help! Any response will be greatly appreciated. :-)

Hi CariAnne: I suggest you contact your doctor's office today and ask about the results! Two weeks is a long time not to hear anything---but then.....maybe no news is good news?

I was tested for gall bladder problems, B12 deficiency, Celiac Sprue, and a bunch of other things---and all came back negative. I don't think I was tested for parasites though. I even had a colon-endoscopy---and that is when the GI said he thinks I have IBS!

However, this upper right quadrant pain is getting unbearable----so, I can't wait to go to PT next week and see what the heck is going on (if they can tell).....I sure hope it gets better!

In the meantime--it does sound like it could be IBS---have you checked out the IBS forum for symptoms?

Keep posting here too! and let us know what you find out!
