I am new to this forum. I have severe anxiety and depression. A brief history. I had Peripartum Cardiomyopathy 2 years ago during c-section. A rare form of heart failure caused by pregnancy and since this was my second preg. and c-section...I was TOTALLY taken aback. I had pulmonary edema and was intubated and had a central line put in my neck. I was in CCU for over 33 hours and did not see my son until the day after (VALENTINE'S DAY) for 5 minutes and that was it.  A normal heart pumps out at 60+ % and mine was at 23%.
Since then I have had 2 years of feelings like my heart was stopping...Palpitations, shortness of breath, everytime I went to the ER I was told I have ANXIETY. i went to the 4 times in one week 3 weeks ago, quit my job, left my home and husband for 3 weeks and am doing somewhat better but have also developed other conditions and am afraid there is more going on than what is being told to me.
I have been diagnosed with IBS due to excessive mucous in stools and frequent stools, stomach pain, gas, also have been diagnosed with duodenitis inflammation in small intestine. Today I woke up so dizzy and light headed that I can't stand it. My BP is running 98/63 and I am concerned about this. I have also been told that I have TMJ and am having sharp shootin headaches. CT of brain showed nothing. CT abdomen and pelvis showed nothing. X ray of Upper GI showed duodenitis. chest ct with contrast showed nothing. Echo a few months ago showed my heart was pumpingat 60%.
Can anxiety really make you feel like crap and nothing be wrong with you physically??? I have also been having severe abdominal pain sore to the touch in the lower left side...any info or insight would be helpful and appreciated...
I am on Celexa 20mg daily and want to know if anyone else had LOW BP on this med...thanks in advance....

Hello and Welcome to Healing Well.  This is Kitt and I hope that we are able to provide you with support as you will find the members here very caring.

Let's start with the Celexa, it can cause  Postural hypotension.  Not sure if that is what you have been experiencing?

Now the cardiac problems...............I am guessing here that you are reporting Ejection Fraction % and 60 % is in the normal range.  Obviously you were etremely ill with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy. You have every right to have Health anxiety issues.

What I am wondering is if you have a therapist as you may benefit greatly from therapy and getting help in learning how to deal with the anxiety?

Health anxiety  refers to an excessive preoccupation or worry about having a serious illness. Often, health anxiety  persists even after a physician has evaluated a person and reassured him/her that his/her concerns about symptoms do not have an underlying medical basis or, if there is a medical illness, the concerns are far in excess of what is appropriate for the level of disease. Health anxiety is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness. Reference: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

In regards to your question can these sx be caused by anxiety, yes they can as well as medical conditions.

I am not a professional so I can not tell you they are all due to anxiety, each person is different.  I hope you can advocate for you and try the therapist.  It has helped so many here including myself.

Please keep posting and know we care.
