Hello to everyone who is visiting the Breast Cancer forum. I would like to let everyone here know that I would gladly answer any questions pertaining to ultrasound as breast ultrasound is the area of radiology I have specialized in. First off, I am NOT a doctor and cannot give you a diagnosis. This can only come from a physician. What I can help you with is perhaps understanding what the test entails and things of that nature.

I know it is very scary to get the news that you may have to get additional radiology tests in conjunction with your mammogram ie(ultrasound) and that is why I would like to help in any way I can.

To the moderators @ Healing Well: If I am not allowed to do this, please let me know. All answers will be general and again, not diagnostic. I do not play doctor :) lol

Thank you for responding so quickly to my question. I have such a passion for early detection of breast cancer. I find this aspect of ultrasound the most rewarding. I really enjoy helping others in their time of need and hope I can be of some help here as well. The reason I chose to pick this area was because I scanned my own mother and found a solid lump.. I almost passed out on the spot. This was a time when I was doing all modalities of ultrasound and after going through the process of a biopsy and a lumpectomy (fibroadenoma), I knew I had give back to the community b/c my mother's mass was benign. I am a very empathetic and understanding type of person and I feel this is my calling. I look forward to helping others in a general format.
