Hello CF members!

I'm not sure if you all know Vanessa, but in case you do, she is in surgery receiving a set of new lungs at this moment!

She has been visiting the CP forum, but I thought maybe she visited here as well, since she has CF.

I will post more as I receive news on her. We are in touch with her mom and boyfriend.

Thank you for your time,

SE/ Screaming Eagle

OK here is the latest! She is out of surgery, and it looks like it went well. She is by no means out of the woods, so we will keep a watch tonight with her parents.

They are now in the recovery room with her, as well as her boyfriend. The next 24hrs are critical for her. I, or Pebbles125 will update when we learn more.

Her parents are very well aware of the HW CP forum and many of the members here, and greatly appreciate all prayers for Vanessa and the family.

I have talked to the boyfriend by text, and he has been by her side almost every night.

Thank you so much for your comments here. I call Vanessa our HW CP or CF poster child, and she is such a sweet and very respectful girl. Very polite to say the least!

Hi there SE,
The name Vanessa does ring a bell, I'm useless at remembering people as they have passed through, and haven't been on here for a while.
Wow though, what fantastic news! To hear of anyone getting new lungs is great news. People have to wait for years sometimes, and a lot of the time lungs don't come in time. I wish Vanessa the best for a speedy recovery, and lots of fun settling into a new life where her lungs aren't stopping her so much.
All the very best

Hello Ray and Gemsi!

I just talked with her boyfriend this morning and she is doing well...but they need her to of course keep it up.

There is a little more discussion on the CP forum, so if you all want to, you can visit us there and read up on her.

We don't bite over there on the CP forum, so come visit us! :)

Just wanted to post one last update here for the CF members on Vanessa's recovery.

She is doing fantastic, and should be released from the hospital is she continues to do well.

We actually saw her post on the CP forum today, and I spoke with her by text last night. She is doing wonderful, and enjoying breathing on her own for the first time in a very long time.

I know some of you have been following her progress, and thought you all might be encouraged by the news.

Take care and bless you all!

Awsome news, here's hoping to an even speedier recovery once Vanessa is home!!! I'm guessing by this that they have got her antirejection meds spot on, which is fantastic.

Thanks for updating on here too

Vanessa had a turn for the worse yesterday evening. She's back on the ventilator and has six
chest tubes now. We need prayers now.  Follow on the chronic pain forum for more updates.

One day at a time!!
