Hi - I am from Australia and we are having quite a cold winter. I find my joints ache sad I was wondering if anyone has used ankle, wrist, elbow warmers? to help with this problem and if so can you recommend some to me?

The best thing that I can recommend is something called a bed buddy. It is a long tube filled with rice. you can heat in oven or microwave and use to put around the sore places. It gives off moist heat. I have heard that people make them out of socks. put long grain rice in them and tie off the other end.. They work just as good as the ones that you buy.

I hope that this helps a little.

hugs, Karen

Is it actually your joints and not muscles?  I am asking because if it's your muscles then I would
be doing what Karen has told you.  If you have RA then it's just the opposite, we have to ice our joints for no longer than 20 minutes

Fibromyagia, R/A, Diabetes, Atrial Fib, depression

folic acid, metformin, diamicron, bisoprolol, fenofibrate, pantoloc, wellbutrin, propafenone, ibprofen, warfarin, methotrexate

Some people dream of angels, I held one in my arms

Welcome Skates! Austrailia sounds like such a beautiful place.
I have Fibro and Osteoarthrits all over my body.  Actually my joints hurt more than my muscles.  I'm new to the Fibro but I think the girls have given you good advice.  Probably the best thing is to make an appointment with your dr.
Hope you stay in touch with us.
God Bless!

Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!!!!

Hi Skates and welcome to our family. I would love to send you a little heat today if I could. Like Shannon I also have osteoarthitis in many joints and the cold is brutal. The rice bags are great and so easy to make out of socks. Moist heat is our friend with fibro also, showers, baths, hot tubs, heating pads and the rice bags.
I'm glad you joined we are here for you.
Karen, can you put the bed buddies in the oven???
luv and hugs
