Hey everyone! i just got back from camping (at algonquin park) for a week
: )))

apart from the killer flies and the bear raiding our campsite, everything went well!

i went on a *moderate* hike every day each from about 1.5 hours to 3 hours. (the trails including a lot of uphill and downhill with tree roots and rocks galore).

I was surprised that i was pain free for the most part all week long! we even went on evening walks for an hour to take the pooches around.

i was really worried that i was gunna be in all sorts of aches and pains cuz of the amount of activity i was doing and because of the cold and dampness.. but i was good! : ))

oh, and since i read that the malic acid/magnesium pills may give you the runs in the beginning.. um.. i decided to delay starting them until i got back from camping. just.. well, just because. hehehe

This is wonderful news!  I'm so glad you had a wonderful time.  I know that if I keep moving I do far better in the pain department.  It sure doesn't pay to worry, does it!  yeah

yah it's so true. i find that when i sit around for long periods of time.. i feel a lot more stiff and achey.
weird. it's almost like the minute you stop moving.. yer body starts rusting away. hhaha

well, except when you over exert yourself and then yer definitely in loads of pain then.. : /

Hi Ingenua,

Wow that was some creepy looking spider, are you sure it wasn't poisoness? How is your bite?

I am so truly happy that you had a good time. Don't be suprised if you become a little sore still, but just work through it. You will be fine. I always seem to feel my soreness a couple of days after the fact for some reason. But all in all, it sounds like you had the most wonderful time and I am sooooo happy for you.

Take care,
Best wishes, Karen...

Hi Ingenua-
Good for you! Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I spent the whole day at my sons house yesterday, playing with my 3 year old granddaughter. And we did a lot! I even got the granddog on a short walk. I was tired today but no pain off the charts.Today I did gardening, which I have not done since last summer. Felt great - and I'm not worrying about the pain. I'm just doing!
I couldn't even punch up the site of your spider- EEEWWWWW! I'm sure I would have nightmares! GamJill

Glad you had such a great time! Hope the bear didn't do too much damage. The worst we got camping was raccoons, and were they ever bold! Came right up to our camp chairs around the fire one night; it was just too bad the kids had missed them. I'm a little jelous of all the hiking you did. Hiking has to be one of my favourite activities, adn I was too fatigued to do any our last trip. Well, that and we had no time with all our day trips. We are going camping for another week in Champlain Park (by Mattawa) at the beginning of August. We are only hanging out there this time, no side trips, so I'm hoping I'll be able to hike! Especially since I bought a new sling for baby girl just for that purpose ;)

btw, that spider is really icky :P
