A few different questions... I just started on Plaquenil 200 mg, as we are working with a "probable" lupus diagnosis - that was my doctor's terminology.
Am I really looking at up to 6 months before I feel any improvement with Plaquenil?
I'm on no other medications at this time.
I do have a history of PTSD and Night Terrors, and lately it's been really bad. Wake up screaming, thinking I'm dead. It's horrible. And, it's nightly. At one point, I was on Prazosin to help with night terrors, and it helped. I'm thinking about asking my doctor to go back on it.
anybody ever take both Plaquenil and Prazosin? Wondering if there are any known drug interactions with these two, as I think I need to be on both of them long-term??
Lastly... anybody have any luck with acupuncture or some non-western medicine treatment for lupus symptoms?

|There are many website which will check drug interactions for you. My personal favorite is /www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.html. I don't see any interactions between Plaquenil and Prazosin.|
Are you being treated by a rheumatologist? If you've been given a "probable" Lupus diagnosis, that is the specialist you need to see. There are many treatments beyond Plaquenil that the rheumy will know about but a PCP may not.
Plaquenil does take a while to kick in, but usually it's said to be 2-3 months rather than 6.
I hope you feel better soon!

|Thanks, Lynnwood. Yes, it's the rheumatologist who is sticking with "probable."|
