Any today I noticed it's starting to swell up and it kind of looks like it's turning outwards. any ideas? Oh I forgot I started in my nuckle now it hurts up to the finger nail.

thanks

This is what I am suspecting too, but not sure, because I sometimes got all kinds of weired pain from whereever you can think of. If I can endure it, I usually will observe for few days. If it does not get well, I would go see the doc. But I am not sure about yours, that is why it is better to be safe than sorry. If the doc said it's arthi***, you will hv some experience next time.

You know....Sometimes it's hard to tell. I myself sometimes cannot tell what is from lupus and what is not. I just said "everything is lupus" : )

Hi Carol,

Your not old! I just turned 49 last month, so I'm right behind you. We're not getting old we are getting better! I forgot what that commercial was that said that... :-) .

I agree with omega about calling your doctor. It does sound like arthritis, but you need to let the doc check it out while its swollen and painful. Let us know what you find out. Hope it gets better soon. Take care and your in my prayers.

Thanks Bab's will do. Oh I think it's a loving care hair color commercial. Not that I EVER use it! LOL When my son went to Iraq I told him he owes me a life time certificate for hair coloring. lol. I need to talk to the doctor anyway. This prednisone isn't cutting it. 3 days and I only took 10 mil. today and I'm really feeling depressed. Plus My "fog" is getting much worse. A friend called me today and said she wasn't going to a get together tomorrow but If i wanted to still go I could ride with one of my other friends. I said no I think I'll just stay home. The thing is I have no idea what she was talking about. I don't know if it's the meds or something else but it is getting where it happens every day. It's starting to really bother me. Ok well I told ya everything going on in my life. I'll just bet my doctor is looking forward to seeing me. LOL

love ya youngster!

Oh it was the loving care commercial..lol. Is your son still in Iraq? I'm sure that would cause alot of gray hairs in anyone that has a loved one over there. He will be in my prayers as well.

I can't get into see the doctor until next week. No surprise there. My son is actually home he was one of the first to go over. He was a front line medic. All he wanted to do was help people. He's out of the army because he was injured over there. He's 80% disabled. and he's 26 years old :(. My hubby was 100% disabled from vietnam but they said that wasn't what killed him? of course it was a v.a. hospital so I wouldn't expect anything else. (sorry sore spot with me) . Thank you for prayers for my son as he continues to need them. His name is Jason. I have 3 online troop support groups. That is my passion. LOL beleive it or not I'm not always here. LOL

love ya

Bless your heart! I can't imagine what you have been through with your son getting injured so bad and loosing your husband as well. I'm glad you have the troop support groups to help you cope with these terrible tragadies. Of course we are always here for you too.

Carol, your thumb sounds so painful. Has your rheumy ever suggested RA? As you know, it can cause not only awful pain, but deformaties as well. I hope your rheumy gets to the bottom of it. Waiting can be so hard!

You have had your share of stress, having lost your hubby and with a son in Iraq. That can't do your immune system any good. Please take care of yourself.

Pat

Hey Patty, No my rheumy is an idiot lol. He did see me on a thursday and said tuesday I could come back in and get shots. I said if I could make it the four hour trips I wouldn't need them. I think sometimes I'd be better off just going to urgent care but they don't take my insurance. I could go to the hospital but they cost a fortune even though my insurance pays 75% still leaves me 25% Can't win! Oh and I got your email thanks I'll check it out. I appreciate the information.

hugs

Cecilia, don't worry about being 50. I'll be 58 this month and though I feel awful physically, I love getting older. I'm so much happier and life seems easier. We women start settling down as we age. We've raise our kids, the drive for a career simmers down and we start smelling the flowers a little bit more. I have to admit, though, that I wish I still looked like I did when I was 30. Sometimes I think I do.....till I look in the mirror. Aaak.
