|finally i have a name for why i am almost always purple, pink or blue.
it's livedo reticularis -- anyone else more blue and pink than they are anything else?
is part of the lupus puzzle? it seems like it's almost like having raynauds all over my body. i had the livedo reticularis as a newborn, and i remember it in early high school. i'd do anything to have even skin tone. ANYTHING. especially for my wedding :o( i'm really bummed to read that unless i wear a white sweat shirt down the aisle, that my skin will probably be blue.
lupus (or something like it)
ulcerative colitis, bone loss, arthralgia, ranaud's, blood clots in fingers, blistering on top of hands, migraines, fatigue, eye pain...i'm sure i'm forgetting something (anxiety, major brain fog)

|I got it on my legs and my son has it on his arms and legs and everywhere else. It likes to appear when I'm cold. I didn't realize that was connected with Lupus. I don't think that its strictly connected with Lupus though since my son has it. I've had it for as long as I can remember and my doc told me that's what it was many years ago.|
Being tan can help to mask it but of course that is not an option for many of us. I did mention Jergen's Natural Glow in another post and I definitely think I'm gonna try the stuff out. I'm like you, I want a nice even tone. :)

|I have it too. I have it on my right wrist, and right ankle. That's it! Yes, it is from the lupus, but mainly a sign of vasculitis. My patches come and go with the way my lupus is acting etc. Fun stuff....

|I had forgotten that my old rheumy had written this down on my chart because of the unusual color my skin takes on. I'm like ginny in that the severity of mine seems to correlate with my disease activity.|
This disease makes a person feel SO attractive and does wonders for the self esteem, lol. I agree that the lotions with self tanners can even out the skin tone a bit.

|Jessica your hubby to be will love ya if you are pink with puple po ka dots. But I understand. You want everything perfect. Hofully you can find somthing to cover the areas that will show the most. I have noticed the skin tones you mentioned on my legs when I take a bath and go to shave my legs. they are multi colors of purples and reds and tan. I figred it was from the cold bathroom or somthing. Like the others try some tanning tones. hopfully it will help some. |

I Have had the red and purple dots on my lower legs in the past. When I had this my legs, ankles and feet were swollen. Does that mean it was Vasculitis, Ginny?. It was treated with Pred and got better fairly quickly.

|I have the purple/red lacey thing going, mainly on my legs and feet. It's not there all the time....comes and goes. My rheumy is the one that pointed it out to me. He acted like it wasn't a big deal...just one of those things.|
I use the Oil of Olay tanners and really like it. You might try that.
