I've been suffering with migraines now for about 7 years, but the severity, duration and frequency is getting worse with each day. I have tried almost every option out there to help my migraines.. from medications, Acupunture, massage, chiropractic, Botox injections, several types of nerve blocks, supplements, almost with little to no relief. I am almost willing to try anything once since the pain is that severe.
In my research, I stumbled upon an article for an ear piercing called "Daith piercing". I am curious to if any of my fellow migrainers has had this done and if it provided any relief at all for you? Any input is appreciated before I go and jump the gun on this one, thank you!!! idea

I believe this a form or spin off of accupressure.

I would try accrupressure first.

Bnotafraid,

I have actually been researching for a reputable accupressure provider in my area, I want to try it! I think I could benefit from it as well. Thank you for your advice.

Best of luck with it. Some people benefit well, I heard a good accupressurist will teach you after a while how to massage your feet to maintain reduced pain.

Peace and strength

I have tried acupuncture as well as have a daith piercing. They have both helped some. I am planning to get the other side pierced.

The one thing I can say about the piercing is don't expect it to be an overnight fix!

I have been suffering from daily constant migraines for over 2 and half years now. I have tried everything. Literally everything doctors suggested, with no change. I recently got my Daith piercing and unfortunately, this has not done anything for me. If you had positive results with acupuncture or acupressure, I would suggest getting the piercing then and give it a try!

I'm reviving this post to see if anyone else has experiences with the Daith piercing. I just got one done and am hoping it'll provide some relief because the Botox shots no longer seem to be helping that much with my daily headaches (they never helped much with the more severe migraines). It's a relatively inexpensive way to potentially get relief (it was $40 where I got it done), and I've had my ears pierced many times. I will say it's the most painful of all my various ear piercings, mainly because the cartilage in that part of the ear is bony. But if it helps, it will be more than worth the initial discomfort.
