Hi All,
I am a middle age and overweight woman.  I have alot pain in my shoulders and back more so on the left side and around and under my rib cage in the front left too.  I have started getting these knots under my skin mostly in my arms, back and upper legs.  Do any of you have anything similiar and could it be caused from arthritis?
I asked a doctor when I had only gotten a couple of the knots and he didn't think it was anything to worry about but now I have alot of them.  Another doctor took an X ray years ago of my chest and didn't find anything. Do you know if a massage would help elivate them and the pain?

Hi Dasa, I usually post on the Fibro forum, looking here because I'm having some other probs w/ OA in various parts of my body. I have had the probs you described. I'm not a dr, nor do I play one on TV. lol  I would suggest you check out the Fibro site, they have lots of info that you should find helpful. Things that can help you compile enough info to bring to a dr. to get a REAL dx and some help. I would also suggest you check out Devin Starlanyl's book on Fibromyalgia & Chronic Myofascial Pain, she has a site you can google. I think you will begin to see a lot of things you may have. Hope this gives you some place to look for answers. My best wishes are w/ you.  God bless.  Alice.
