I just joined this website and I'm looking for some answers from people that are in the same situation. I've been diagnosed with PA over 5 years ago. Currently I'm on Humira and Sulfasalazine 500mg 4x a day due to OA in my spine.
I also have a yeast infection every single month and my infectious disease specialist told me that Humira causes it. I'm taking Fluconazole 200 mg every day for this and still get the Yeasty beast. Can somebody help me please???? I'm very frustrated.

I'm sure you are already doing this but probiotics do seem to help most people but make sure the one you take does not contain yeast as one of its ingrediants. Also the ones that are kept refrigerated in health food stores are much better than the pills.

Hello SJ,
Thanks for the reply. I tried to take acidophilus the liquid and the pills also but they don't help. I can't go on a strict diet either because I can't lose weight (I'm thin).
I just hope someone can help me with this.
Have a good day!

Blue33: I have have severe degenerative arthritis on knees, upper disks , and some joints. Also have osteoperosis. I am not allowed to take any medications for pain due to another illness. When I get a yeast infection I mix 1 tablespoon of vinigar with about 1 and a half cups of water , and douch. You can also buy them pre-made in small plastic disposable bottles. They're very inexpensive. Simply labled vingiar douch. You can find them in womans personal items such as tampons etc;; at and grocery store or pharmacy.
Also it's very good to eat alot of yougart. I cant loose or gain any weight either.

Hi June17,

I really appreciate your support. I'll try this vinegar douche. Although I tried it and mixed some tea tree oil in it but used organic apple cider vinegar that helped. I also ate yoghurt for a while.

I'm looking for a permanent solution that would prevent this yeast to break out every month, so I just want to prevent it instead of treating it every single month. It's really getting to me with all the other stuff that is going on. But thanks anyways!!

This is probably not an answer, nor am I sure it is more of a coincidence than anything - but I was having a terrible time with monthy infections and irritations as well. I even had a regular Rx for a short time for cream that I just used on a regular basis when the irritation started. However, I went on the pill 2 years ago and the problems subsided quite a bit.
Things you probably already do (in addition to the other things discussed already) - drink lots of H20, cut back on the sugar, I buy the prep H wipes and use those on occasion - but don't overuse them to avoid additional irritation.
Be careful using tea tree oil - it can have a severe drying effect.
Good luck.

Thanks so much again for the support!!!! I use the tea tree oil just for a few days not on daily basis. I will start eating yoghurt again and will cut back on sugar. I love chocolate so I have to watch it!!
Have a great day and thanks again!!!
