I have not been Dx with RA but rather inflammatory arthritis.  I was doing ok until I finally got off of prednisone after being on it for over three years straight.  Now my ankle is very stiff and in the mornings it is next to impossible to walk on it for several minutes to an an hour.  Also my knee is very stiff and feels like it is deformed.  I am scared that they are just going to snap cause that is what it feels like especially in the mornings.  What do you think?

I'm in dx limbo too.  My ankles give me problems as well.  Not sure what to tell you.  For me, we don't know if it's my lupus, fibromyalgia, arthritis, RA or Ankylosing Spondylitis.  Great mixture of possibilities eyes
I'm still learning about RA and what it affects, but I think the ankles are one of the joints that it does attack.  I hope others can help you out more.  It's terrible living in pain. Mornings are hard on me too.  I'm at the point where the stiffness and pain doesn't let up after an hour or so.  It's with me all day now.  BLAH!

I was on prednisone for 5 yrs, and have been completely off of it since June 30.  I am having problems with my ankles all weekend.  I swear sometimes they feel like they will shatter.  Wonder if there is a connection?  This shatter feeling comes and goes through out the day, not just first thing in the am.  I have been dx 11 yrs ago with the R/A, but also have fibro.
wish I could be more helpful to you.  What meds are you on presently seekingrelief?
