Hi everyone! I was sick over the weekend, but I'm not sure if it was a flare or the flu. I tend to run a low-grade fever during my flares, so that's not really a good indicator. Here's the symptoms I was experiencing: on Saturday night I got extremely cold and my body temp dropped. It is usually about 97.5 anyway, but I was all bundled up in blankets and a hat to keep warm. Sunday morning during church I felt dizzy and lightheaded whenever we had to stand up, so I stayed sitting throughout most of the service. When I got home, I checked my temperature and sure enough, it was 100. I felt horrible, just really fatigued, but not achy. I slept most of the day, and by the evening, I was starting to feel achy. My right index finger was hurting, my wrists, my left elbow, my ankles. Yesterday I didn't feel as bad, although the pain was mostly in my lower extremities- hips, knees, ankles. Low grade fever continues, altho it never seems to go above 100.
Needless to say, I am taking it easy and trying to stay hydrated and warm. I have not had any upper respiratory symptoms or anything else other than my appetite was off at first. I know that the main symptoms of flu are fever, body aches, and fatigue, but that pretty much describes me during a flare. So how do I tell which it is?
(For what it's worth, all the joint pain I experienced was in joints that bother me with RA. I don't always have pain on both sides of my body at the same time.)
Has anybody else been able to figure this out? Thanks!
