Do you get muscle spasm? I was told 4 years ago that my RA had gone into my muscles. The past 2 years I've been having alot of muscle spasm. My muscles in my stomach give me the worst trouble. It's actually knot up in a small ball and moves around. It actually feels like I'm pregnant and there is a baby moving around inside of me. Then there are times all I have to do is wiggle my toes or bend over to pick something up off the floor and my muscles will pull really, really tight. I've even had muscle spasms just by turning the stering wheel of my vehicle. I eat bananas to get potassium. I've taken potassium pills. A friend of mine suggested that taking magnesium and calcium together would help- which it did help, but as soon as I slack off on taking them my spasm are right back. So, I was just wondering does anyone else out there with RA have alot of contracting muscles? what do you do for it? has your RA developed into you muscles?

I only got spasms during my severe onset. I attributed it to being frozen in place for too long a period of time. My husband gets terrible muscle spasms over nothing. Pulling the cord to lift a window blind can cause one. Recently it was traced to him being on statins for cholesterol. He was also having a lot of tendon issues and getting gangolin cysts.

Any chance you are on that medication?
