Camama, there are so many things that we look back on years later and say "I wonder if this.. or that... contributed to the way this.. or that.. is now" Sometimes there is a direct link (look at fetal alcohol syndrome) and more often then not, there isn't. No amount of wondering is going to change who she is now. I can understand your Dr. wanting to be careful with pre-existing liver issues but you also need something that will help the "blue" feeling. What about something natural that isn't ingested? I am thinking along the lines of aromatherapy. I love it. In my bathroom downstairs (which is just inside my front door) I have one of the glade plug-ins. I alternate the scents that are in there depending on my mood and the effect I want as I come in the front door. Right now I have a vanilla scent. I love it. Usually though I have the eucalyptus/citrus energizing scent there. I tried the lavender because I love lavender but it has another scent added and found it really overpowering. Lavender is really relaxing, but there are scents meant more to uplift and energize. Look into it and see if something like that could give you some sort of relief. Who knows maybe it would have a positive influence on your daughter. Wouldn't that be just great?:)
Hope all is well with you.

That's a good idea, something that could soothe both of us.

I've started playing something called "soothing music" for her while she falls asleep. It seems to help relax her.

I know I cannot worry about why she is the way she is. It may have nothing to do with anything except the way she was made. :-)   But, we do need to get a handle and understanding why these spells are happening - it could be something simple we can help her through, but we need to figure out what that "thing" is before they get out of hand and she's a even more stubborn teenager.
