I have been back on Humira (once a wk) for quite awhile again and it seems to be losing it's effectiveness again so my rheumy wants me to try the Simponi infusions. I took the Simponi by injections and after several months it still wasn't doing anything so I really can't understand why the infusions would be any different. I have tried several other drugs, Enbrel, Remicade, etc and so far Humira is the only one that never caused any side effects.
I'm just tapering off another round of prednisone and down to 3 mg and am starting to suffer again. To top that off I got my flu shot Friday and have had an itchy rash on my arms and hands ever since that's driving me crazy. Never had any problem with flu shots before so am really doubting that is what's causing it, but who knows. Will start with my primary doctor and then if they don't know I'll probably have to see a dermatologist, I hate when they give me something for the symptoms and don't really have a clue what caused something. Then I take the risk of another reaction from whatever they give me. I had a wonderful few weeks of reprieve when I was on the higher dose of pred. but know what that can do to me too. So begins another round of doctors. I also as diagnosed with severe carpel tunnel in my right hand (the one that is really deformed by the arthritis) and have an apt for a consult with the surgeon. Again I am afraid that surgery might worsen things and don't want to lose the use of my hand. Any input gladly accepted.
