I love my Mom more than life itself and am really really worried about her. She was diagnosed with arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis. For almost 4 months last Fall she was in pain at like 10 out of 10 on the pain scale. Went to pain management doc who did some procedures but nothing worked and he sent her to a rheumatologist who finally diagnosed why she was having the pain. She put her on prednisone and it gave my Mom severe back pain so they backed her off to a smaller dosage each morning. She gets up each morning and is in so much pain with her shoulder and neck not being able to turn her head side to side. Once she takes the predsisone she feels better but still has pain.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE SHE CAN DO OR TAKE FOR HER SHOULDER/NECK PAIN THAT SHE STILL HAS AFTER TAKING THE PREDNISONE? ANY EXERCISES OR THERAPY? ANYTHING ANYBODY HAS IDEAS about PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW? I am desperate for answers to help her. As we all are the same, we hate to see someone we love in so much pain. Thank you in advance for your advice.
She is limited to what she can take. The only pain med she can tolerate is oxycodone. Every other pain med or antidepressant used as a pain killer she has had horrible side effects from so was told by her doctor not to ever take them again. Ibuprofen does nothing.
