Oh boy Tina they sure aren't giving you many choices. With your Vectra scores that high I really couldn't imagine going untreated for that long a period :(

Aside from the appearance is it really a medical necessity to heave the reconstruction? I know Im not in your shoes but to me it just wouldn't be worth the risk and pain of being untreated for that long. I had some pretty major deformity in my hands that took place in a very short period of time a few years back. Took about 2-3 weeks and my fingers were really going crooked and stayed that way. I wish I could offer you some alternative ideas.

This disease when it is really active is a real butt kicker. If it were me I would forgo the surgery until your disease may be in better check and give you some respite and possibly enough time to maybe take a break. Besides, I doubt that your Doctor is going to agree to perform surgery on you when you are in a major RA flare up. The risks would simply be too great. Kind of a catch 22 on that front.

I hope that you get a reprieve and can get your surgery. -Don
