My doctor would like to have me try Rinvoq. Does anyone have any experience with this? It was just FDA approved in August and that scares me a little. I have taken Remicade, Arava, Humeria, and Methotrexate in the past - and had to stop all of them due to health issues caused by each of them. Though, the Remicade was a miracle drug up until I could no longer tolerate it. Through all this, I have been on Plaquenil for the last 16 years. It has been one of the best working DMARDs I have taken, but seems to be loosing it's effectiveness. The doc wanted me to initially try Otezla since I have psoriatic arthritis, but the depression side effect concerns me.

CaMama, I searched in the archived threads & did not find anyone on this particular medication. I do understand your concerns with it being new. I have crohns & when I went on Remicade it hadn't been out that long either. In all honesty as sick as I was I put those concerns aside. It worked very well for me until I built up antibodies to it.

You can always give it a try & hopefully it will be a success for you.

Thanks for the quick reply. Having only been approved and out for a few months, I can't find any reviews online about it. Hoped someone here has been on it to give first impressions. I will likely proceed with trying it as the last few months have been miserable for me.
Sorry to hear Remicade stopped for you as well. The first 16 months on it, I was in hog-heaven (except for having to do the IV with small veins, lol). The last few were non-stop infections and I was starting to have reactions during the infusions. Such a shame.

CaMama, I know the feeling about new medications. I was on Enbrel the very first biologic when it came to market. It was an incredible medication in controlling my RA for over 10 years. Please make sure if you decide to go ahead to post your experience here for others so that they will have something to go off of.
I have not taken Remicade yet because I am concerned about the shelf life of it lasting so long. I have a history of infections and allergies now so I have shied away from it even though the medication I am taking now is not as effective as we had hoped.
Is Rinvoq a weekly injection?
