Hello! I have had RA since I was three so I definitely don't remember those early years of treatment, but I have taken methotrexate on and off my whole life (along with biologics) with no issues besides nausea. Switching from pills to shots of it helped the nausea a lot, so that could minimize discomfort if you're prone to stomach pain. I'm 26 now and RA is definitely not comfortable and fun but I've managed to finish college, get married, and I'm almost done with law school. There are many struggles but with treatment and therapy you can continue to reach your goals and enjoy your life!
