Investigating the use of a mobile phone app for pain management in arthritis!
We are fourth year Psychology MSci students and, for our dissertation, we are recruiting participants with diagnosed arthritis in their hands.
You will be using an app for 2 minutes each day for one week, through which you will view your hand. This mobile phone application can be used on both Apple and Android devices. For Apple, the application requires iOS 9.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. For Android, the application requires 4.1 and up.
At the beginning of the study, you will fill out questionnaires about
your pain, quality of life and feelings towards particular body parts. This will take about
15 mins.
While using the app, you will rate your pain daily and use the hand therapy section of the app. (you will get daily email reminders). This should only take about
5 mins a day, including using the app!
At the end of the study there will be a second survey to complete which includes similar questions to the first survey and also takes about
15 mins.
