Ruth, if your Post Title is your question instead of your name, it is more likely to get responses. To change it, click the little down-pointing triangle by the word Options and select Edit Post.

I do not have RA, I have a different Autoimmune issue, but sometimes I wear slippers with an "walk to the mailbox" bottom. They look like ballet flats, but they are very soft and stretchy. I got mine at Walmart, but they sell them in a lot of places. I wear pants or long skirts when I wear them in public, so , at least in my imagination, they look pretty normal.

My feet are so bad they need support and cushion. I’ve tried all the brand names and even names I never heard of. I can’t find a pair that doesn’t hurt my toes/feet.

Anyone with any shoe suggestions will be greatly appreciated as I’m running out of ideas.

Hi Ruth, I suggest that you do a net search for a shoe specialty store. These are stand alone stores that offer shoes for a variety of foot issues. An example, my husband is diabetic, he goes to a specialty store & they have shoes for diabetics. Another thing, have you seen a podiatrist, if not it may be worth a visit to one that can recommend a particular store to you.

Search it out, you will find what I'm describing.

Thank you so much. I have come on here because I have been to every prescription shoe store and website. I have a podiatrist. He has been unable to help me also. I’ve ask every dr. I have. I’ve even thought of Uggs. But there’s no support in them.
Keep giving me suggestions. Please.

I have a question for anyone with RA. Have you had Covid ? I ask cause I don’t know what would happen to me if I get ill. I’m staying home a lot. And I’m wearing a mask everywhere I go.

What medication are you on to treat your RA? This forum is very, very slow, this is why I am replying to you. If you ever get Covid, you can ask your dr for the medication Paxlovid, but you must start it within 5 days of a positive test. We have members in other forums that are on immunosuppressants & symptoms vary per each individual.

I’m on Xeljanz and steroids. I’ve had several reactions to other meds.

Have you been to Tops for Shoes?

Have you shopped in person? Or tried to do this all mail order?

I have shopped online as I have trouble walking also. I order. Try them. Then send them back. I have not tried Tops. I will look them up now.
Thank you. Ruth

Does anyone with RA have tooth ache? I’ve already seen my dentist and my oral surgeon but they found nothing wrong. I’ve taken every thing to stop it: steroid, anti-inflammatory, pain meds and Tylenol. Nothing is stopping my tooth from hurting. I’m getting desperate. Ruth

Ruth, I can't help you with a tooth ache. Just a thought, how do you get around for normal activities, do you have a wheel chair? Have you ever tried wearing sneakers? The only ones I have found to have good support for me is Skechers. They are very soft with memory foam gel, plenty of different styles to choose from, especially in the toe area. They have slip on styles too. I wear sneakers year round.

I appreciate all suggestions. But I’ve tried them all. I get around without any help. I right now wear NB. But they’re so old and wearing out. That’s when the shoe search started.
Thanks. Ruth

For anyone that has a toothache, don’t ignore it. I went to ER and found I had a mild heart attack.

Ruth:

If you go to a podiatrist, they can point you in the right direction. My podiatrist actually sells/has specialty shoes in their office.

Hi Ruth,

I also have very twisted second toes and support them with rubber "Zentoes" they go on the 2-4 toes and keep the second toe from going over the big toe. As for shoes I also am having a time. I love these which I purchased on Amazon "Vionic Women's Sky Adore Leisure Shoes -Supportive Walking Shoes That Include Three-Zone Comfort with Orthotic Insole Arch Support, Sneakers for Women". Then Amazon will give other choices and reading reviews helps me so much. Good luck.

Pray they work for you. Reallly love them and I do not untie just slip on and off. Great support as well.

Thank you so much for the shoe suggestion. I’ll check out Amazon today.
My podiatrist gave me a little brace that holds my toes in place but they hurt my toes so bad I couldn’t wear them. I’ll look up the ones you suggested.
Thank you so much as not too many have responded to my desperate request.

I need a 10w to accommodate my twisted big toe. They don’t come in that size. 😩

I’ve looked online on every site. I can not find Vionic Sky Adore Leisure shoes any where. If I find them the sizes are limited. Or they’re sold out.
