It looks like I got two mostly good days off the medrol pack.  Yes, it is true I could at least walk when I couldnt before.  But, why am I hurting so soon?  the first sign of anything was my jaws.  I think there might be arthritis or inflammation going on there.  While I was on the pred I had no pain or uncomfortable feeling in my jaws.  I was amazed that it was gone actually as I had it for a couple months and just figured I was grinding my teeth or something.  But after day one of pred.  suddenly i realized my jaw didnt hurt anymore.  Well, it does now.  So do my feet, knees, thighs, elbows, and wrists.  Like it just came back full blown?  I should still have steroids in my system because the last one was this AM.  I took my indocin though i was going to wait until morning, but if I feel like this this evening.  Morning is going to be hell.  You know what saddens me the most?  It was only 3 weeks ago I felt great with little pain.  Just a short time of stiffness in the mornings.... Is that going to come back?  Because yet again I feel as if I have been hit by a truck that carried a tankful of the flu virus.  I just want three weeks ago back.  Not just one or two days of it either.  Arrrrgghhh listen to me whine.  Well, today was the start of my Jenny Craig diet.  I intend to lose this weight no matter what.  It actually feels like too much food for me, but it was nice to not have to think about what I am going to eat or eating the wrong things and feeling guilty later.  I wish I could put real exercise on the menu too.  Soon... maybe soon.

babybloo, my experience was very much like yours. i had the intense pain and my MD put me on medrol pack i got immediate relief that first day almost but as the week went on and mp dose lowered the pain begain to return a little more each day til i was back to square one and then some. that is when my MD told me because it responded it must be inflammatory and that is when i got my rheummy referral. i am now on prednisone til the methotrexate stuff kicks in. happy to say i have had 3 good days in a row and counting. your medrol may have been the same experiement as my medrol pack was and yes you too responded as i did. let your doctor know how positive it was in the beginning and how as you lowered that daily dose it returned. i am certain that will mean something to your doctor. i truley hope you can have pain free days again soon good luck and i am hopeful they will figure things out *~yalinda

Babybloo,  I'm sorry you're hurting so bad right now.  The week I was on high-dose prednisone, I felt incredible the first couple of days.  Gradually as the week wore on, and my dose wore off (tapered), I started feeling worse and worse.  My body loved the prednisone and didn't want to wean off.  That's why I'm scared to even try it again.  Of course, there are days that I yearn for just a few days.  My rheumy would never go for it.  I think he would rather give me a cortisone shot or something similar.  I feel for you.  Call your rheumy if it gets much worse.  Prior to the prednisone I had a very bad flare, went to the ER in the middle of the night.  They gave me a couple of toradol injections and it helped greatly for a few hours.

I hope you feel better soon,
