Hello folks.
I am a member from The Crohn's board. That's my bane..  But the reason I am here is my cousin.  She is my neighbor and is going through something I hope someone here can help me get my brain around.
She is suffering a sudden onset of Reiter's Syndrome(reactive arthritis), anyone here able to enlighten me on this condition. I have flitted through the net but first hand info is much better, least at the healingwell I think.
Any info would be helpful. thanks guys. Hope ya'll are doing well.

Reactive arthritis is closely related to ankylosing spondylitis and enteropathic arthrits, both common in people with CD. I have AS. The most comprehesive information for patients about all three conditions is available at the Spondylitis Association of America.
The treatment for reactive arthritis is similar to how I am treated with one big difference. NSAIDs are usually the first medication used to treat the spondylitis type diseases. Because I have CD I could not use those. The next line of treatment is usually the DMARD class of drugs. I tried sulfasalazine but turned up allergic to it. My arthritis was flaring so badly by that point that I was put on Remicade. My CD was mild in nature but the AS was not, therefore I went on Remicade.
CD, Ankylosing Spondylitis, peripheral neuropathy

Sorry Lala, I can't help you much.  I don't know much about reactive arthritis.  But Ides is an expert in the spondylitis stuff.  I'm sure you'll find some information in the links Ides has provided.  Hope your cousin feels better.

Thanks for the info....  Interesting that it has a cd link of sorts.  The wonky gene runs in the family I guess.  I thought of Remicade and told her to query her doc about it so maybe that could help. I am not sure but, short of doing everything for her education is all I can hope for.

Hate all these DD.
