When I got my script for Relafen last week. I was under the impression it was essentially Advil, but with the handy-ness of two large pills instead of 9-12 little ones. Well, I was wrong, and Relafen is lovely so far.  I'd say it took my pain from a 7 to a 3 and I can see ankle and knee bones again!
But I got too excited and took my activity level from a 2 to a 10.  Today marked the end of my stupidity. I started my day with Yoga, took a long walk, chased my son around the park, and just got back from swimming laps at the pool.  Duh. I could barely walk when I got out of the pool thanks to my now nicely swollen ankles.  I feel like a complete retard.
I just got so excited when I felt close to normal again. For those of you who love to exercise, can you still? And is it hard to find a balance -- enough to stay limber but not ramp up your flare?
Feeling naive . . .
Actually happy to be sick and not just crazy . . .

Hey Rocky... well.. have I been in your shoes before? Sure have... It's almost like we forget how bad we felt so we do too much and then our lovely diseases knock us on our butts to let us know, SLOW DOWN. I still exercise... but in moderation.. it has taken me a while to find out just how far I can push myself... And every day it is getting better and better... hang in there, you'll find your starting point... and then you'll be good.. but for now... kick your feet up and rest easy!

Hi, yes I have also overdone it many times when I was feeling better. The only time I didnt' get worse was while overdoing excercise while on moderate doses of prednisone for a lupus flare. But since being off of that I have also developed bad arthritis in my spine which is now preventing me from doing most things. I just keep on going to physical therapy and do light exercises with a ball, some straps and bands and the stationary bicycle. And when im feeling worse I just do them alot slower and less of them. I really like working with the exercise ball; there's many different exercises and ways of stretching you can do with it and are low impact.
