Please don't be discouraged, it will get better!! I'm pretty new at this too, only on week6 of methotrexate, ( haven't lost any hair yet) but it's so great that your doctor ordered the tests already and you get to see the specialist on Thurs..that should cut down a lot of the wait. Once you see the doctor, they should be able to start you on things that will help you with the pain and the swelling.
When I was first in, my hands were KILLING me, that's why I went. Could barely move my fingers, then when it hit my shoulders, itgot pretty bad. Couldn't even turn the wheel of the car to drive. But, that has all improved so much. Yes, I still hurt, some days worse than others, but nothing like it was in the beginning. I do daycare in my home and have been able to keep up.
This is a great place for people to come and vent, and you probably read more about the questions and the problems than the improvements, but I know that I'm not near as bad as I was earlier. Everyone here is so helpful, I hope you find it to be true for you as well,
