Hi Sjogrenites. I have lupus with secondary sjogrens so I'll list info and products I like to use.  Like some of u have mentioned, I have dental problems, but I hate going to the dentist and yeah, I know I should go. The enamel of my teeth wears thin and I have found that ACT restore mouthwash helps. For dry mouth I use Oral Balance gel (mostly before bed), Biotene toothpaste, and Crest Pro Health mouthwash for daily use because it doesn't have alcohol. My parotid glands were infected last year so I have to remain aware of mouth infections. The skin at the tops of my thumbs often split and I get ingrown fingernails. I use a Rx antibiotic cream for both. I get keloid scars at the corners of my mouth and use a Rx cream for that too. For my dry skin I always use creams, such as Eucerin, and never lotion. I read that lotions actually contribute to dryness in sjogrens. I use Systane eye drops which are OTC. That's all I can think of for now. Love, Butterflake

Systemic Lupus ('05), depression, fibro, sjogrens, cns issues, diabetes, gerd, hypertension, IBS, stage 1 kidney disease  Rx: Cellcept, plaquenil, prednisone, celebrex, lisionpril, actos, lipitor, nexeum, prozac, seroquel, wellbutrin, xanax, ambien, neurontin, tylenol arthritis, flexeril, nasonex, phenegren, vitamins, Acupuncture.  "Welcome to lupus, where the strange is ordinary and nothing is normal." Hi Butterflake,
The Biotene is great stuff!  My dry mouth usually hits me in the morning the worse and my tongue is literally stuck to the roof of my mouth, I have to wiggle it free shocked
I have Oasis spray that I use and I keep one by the side of my bed.  It does an okay job.  I was using sugar free lemon drops to stimulate saliva flow but I heard that it may not be that good because of the acid which can destroy your teeth further.  I do carry a water bottle everywhere I go though.
I use Genteal eye drops.  They are supposedly preservative free WHEN they hit your eyes.  The true preservative free drops are a bit pricey and I can't figure out how to carry them around with me since they are in vials.
