I have bipolar and I am currently on zoloft, klonopin, adderall, and I am supposed to be taking risperdal. I felt like a zombie on it, forgetful, tired, brain dead; not the right stuff to be on when in college. I am scared to death to try another mood stabilizer.
I was on 100mg of Seroquel during sophomore year in High School, but quit taking it last summer when I realized Klonopin was enough to help me fall asleep.
Now that I am off of seroquel, I realize that it had a major effect on my memory. I can not remember anything from high school unless I look at pictures. I thought I was stable, taking seroquel to knock me out at night, adderall to wake me up, Lexapro for depression and Klonopin for anxiety.

I am only on Zoloft and the only advice I can offer is on the Risperdal.  How long had you taken it?  The Risperdal really knocked me out for the first two weeks, but as my body started to regulate with lessened greatly.  The best way I can describe it is just that it slows down my mind enough to let me relax and sleep soundly.  But I can still function if I need to, like if my little one wakes up in the middle of the night.  So maybe you just needed to be more patient with the Risperdal, for you body to have time to get used to it?

I hope shool is going well with you and you have started to give yourself a break.  I am into photography also.  That is my personal joy in life  :)
