My name is Tammy and I live in Florida.  I am bi-polar and while I still have mood swings, I am doing better with my seraquel and cymbaulta.  When I was younger I tended to be more manic but as I got older I now tend to be on the other end of the scale.  I found out I had ulcerative colitis when I was 19 and had surgery in 1995 to get a total illeostomy.  Was not supposed to be permanent but they found cancer cells in the rectum and closed me up in the back.  I am divorced with no children(unable to have).  My life has been a rollercoaster or ups and downs, but I have a great family and 2 wonder friends I've had since highschool.  I live with my boyfriend Mike and we have 3 dogs (2 chiuauas and one chiweeni).  With lots of love and support I make it through each day, some being more difficult than others.  I have a 14 yr old neice and twin 3 yr old nephews and my sister has another on the way.  My work now is to babysit for the kids since both of their parent work.  Yes, I get paid but it is such a blessing to be there and to help them grow-up.  This sister is a nurse and my other sister just became a lawyer.  I am something of a disappointment as I was supposed to be a doctor but there you are, lord had other plans.  Kim is my best buddy and her daughter is my godchild.  Mike and I are working on fixing up the house.  He is medically retired and we take care of each other.  He is great and I really love him.  I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, talking a lot. (a short conversation with my friends is usually about 3 hrs tongue ).  I am happy right now and hope to stay that way for a while.  Now you know a little or a lot about me depending on how you look at it.  Nice to meet you all and I look forward to hearing from ya'll. By the way sometimes spellin stinks.

Welcome Tammy.  I hope you find this forum as helpful as I have.  I am sure you will find a lot of helpful information, and am sure you have a lot of good advise yourself :-)

Hi Tammy,

Welcome to the forum. It's good to have you. You sound like you keep yourself very busy. (What exactly is a chiweeni?) I hope you find some company here on the board and we look forward to hearing you chime in.

Sorry to cause confusion.  A chiweeni is a cross between a chuiauau and a weener dog. This is Louie on my 39th birthday and his 1st.  He is my baby.  His neck is much longer than it looks and as you can see he is a real wiggle worm.  He has a sweet temperment and is very loving. you just have to watch out for that really long tongue you see there otherwise you may get an unexpected bath.  He is bigger than most chuiauaus right now he about 10lb mostly muscle and cartledge as I don't think he has any bones.  He can jump up to about 10 ft when he flies off the stairs(4 and he never touches one of them) He can jump up about 5ft.  I highly recommend a chiweeni to anyone who is looking for a sweet tempered and friendly dog. They do ok with kids but I think they do better with adults and older children...they love attention.
