Unfortunately, Katy, yes, that can happen. Like LFW said in her post before, you have to let them know you aren't going to stand for being abused. You deserve better than that. Because we have little control over our moods, if left to our own devices we will sometimes just let them get the best of us and turn into right monsters to be around. But it doesn't have to be that way. Make it clear you won't stand for it, that he is going to have to be responsible for how he talks and acts around you. Make it clear that you love him but if he can't be civil to you than you won't talk to him, and follow through on it. Make it clear you won't be manipulated -- stand firm. He may have bipolar, but he's also a grown up and can act like one if forced to.

I'm sorry if you didn't feel I was being supportive. I certainly meant to be. What kind of support are you looking for?

By all means, vent away. Just remember that lots of us are bp, so keep it respectful. :-) We do our best around here, but we also understand that bp can be really hard to live with.

Please Vent as the spouse is lost sometimes.

serafena had some truth to what she said.

Just read this to my wife who had had it from me also...but with meds its better now and she stops and thinks about my bp and so do I.
