I have been told in the past years ago that I am bipolar and have suffered depression and still do sometimes but I have many thing going on that I just cant see are "mental" causes as my doctor suggests such as:

poor circulation and pains and cold hands and feet
random shooting pains and spasms everywhere on body
major stomach problems, bloat, bowel problems, can't seem to eat anything anymore
blurry vision, floaters, eye pains, dry eyes, styes
foggyness, headaches, balance problems, daze out, memory problems, speech problems (get lost and pause in a conversation)
ponding heart and pulse (feel it in neck, arms)
random body jolts when I lay down (the absolute most scariest)
seem to get really really really sick after a hot bath, or shower...tanning,etc?
cannot deal with cold weather anymore AT ALL
joint pains
around twice a year will have a major pain episode where usually it is my stomach
groin pains/teste pain
face pains, numbness, sensations like a spider crawling on it
hand tremor sometimes whe reaching for something

psyche wise: identity problems (who am i), mind never shuts off, jump from one thing to next, cant function (or work) agitated depressed or hyper, sometimes feel real good and have big plans and have it all figured out (last for about 15 minutes), anixous, panicky, etc, I dont doubt I have mental issues that is obvious but all this body stuff got me thinking of lupus or ms, something more serious, I know depression pain and this is well different, or is it?

I dont even go to my doctor anymore cause I feel like a jerk anymore... like yea thats the bipolar guy, just humor him and he will go away for 6 months or so

I edited out your carefully disguised cuss word, cos that's my job. :-)

i'm not even close to a dr, but do have experience which i am happy to share with you.  the rx of bp is actually rather difficult because the shrink should be able to see you in both strates over a period of time.  be that as it may, the psyche DOES operate in the soma and does interact with it.  in other words, your mind, mood, other illnesses and how you react to them can all interact to causde other symptoms.

the other  thing that i would advise is for y0ou to get a second opinion, perhaps from different specializations.  of coiurse, there is always House.  :-)

best wishes.

Hi rb333,

First let me welcome you to Healing Well. Glad you found us. I hope we can help in some small way.

Second, I'd have to agree with Warren -- he's a wise guy (pardon the pun). Really, extra pains and physical symptoms can come from just your anxiety -- it really takes a toll on our bodies. BUT just to be safe, AND because pcps can write off the symptoms of patients with mental conditions as "just in their heads," I'd take it to another doc for a second opinion. Have you mentioned these symptoms to your psychiatrist, by the way?

Hi rb333,
I can relate to your physical issues as i had them in few times in my life, but psyche wise i am unlike you ,except i do get panicky when stressed out.I always think nobody can know how bad strss can break havoc on our mind and body ,the power of it is underestimated,if we talk to docs they laugh it out and would give me anti-anxiety pill for 1-2 months which i don't want as thats no treatment. My spouse is a bp so i can understand your concerns.
i think its just stress flares and you get them when its wrecking your mind and body ,how we control it i know can be challenging as i am myself now a days in bad phase of life.
keep faith in yourself and things would seem more relaxed(looks like i am saying to myself).
best of luck
