In Carolsclan's thread, Sukay mentioned it might be worthwhile for all of us to discuss the ways we fight anxiety (besides our meds, of course). I thought I'd start us off and see what the rest of you had to say.

I mentioned that I have to ground myself. By that I mean I have to stop what I'm doing and remind myself who I am, where I am, what I'm doing and that I'm okay. This also involves some deep breaths. I try to just be in the moment for a minute because when the anxiety is worst I'm trying to think ahead too hard -- worrying and fretting.

What are some ways the rest of you fight your anxiety?

Mine is similar to yours serafena....I too have to "ground" myself.  In the situation I have to stop my brain from spinning and talk to myself.  I have to remind myself of some key things suggested by my therapiset, and remind myself that I am ok, just flustered, and this too shall pass.
Earlier in my bp experience I would actually start pacing and deep breathing.

I have the same type of thing .... my pdoc increased my cilift by 1/2 tab .. but also gave me methods to deal with it.
I made a conscious descion not to stress and everytime I do I just remind myself ... and im really feeling great.... a few things I found useful.
Worry is interest earned on things not due
And the difference between what we can control or cant
Also my pdoc suggested that most of my stress was coming from the very dificult circumstances I had this past month and that its normal...
Serafina I also do much the same as what you do.
I think a lot of what has been getting to me lately is working out what is normal behaviour ... i was getting a bit paranoid yeah but mu hubby has assured me that since I have been on medication im a much better person and that now he cant wait to come home at night tongue

my way is smiliar to serafena, sometimes i have to just stop everything and remind my self of whats really going on and that i'm going to be okay no matter what.. sometimes it gets a little difficult to stop my self though and thats when its good to have my friend tara next to me to remind me.
