Hi. I am looking for information on bipolar behavior. I have read many of these chats, but have not found what I am looking for. I have just left a 20 year marriage to a man I believe to be bipolar. He was mean, yelled a lot, had a very low tolerance for others, could not work with others (got let go of several jobs). Our relationship started off fine, but he slowly started to distance himself from me and was not able to share any kind feelings. It seemed to get worse as we got older. He does not take any responsiblity for his behavior and does not understand that he even behaves that way. He thinks he is fabulous. He cannot sleep and everything he does only reflects his happiness. He said rude and unforgiving things to me and the children. He drinks everyday. He told me the other day that he realizes he wasn't in a proper relationship to express his emotions. It was a very frustrating relationship. Any insight???

Hi blue squirrel,

Unfortunately, none of us are doctors and nothing you wrote about says "bipolar" definitively. Here's a few links. Try reading the list of symptoms and see what you think.

Hope that helps,
