I am on lamictal, lithium, lexapro, and kolanpin. I am having a realy hard time with memory loss mostly short term. I can not remeber what I had for dinner last night and sometimes I can not remeber how to spell and if I made my sons lunch for school a few hours after he has left. I even for get my keys to my car when I am leaving to drive. I also sometimes for get where I am at just a few miles from my house. Is anyone feeling these affects with there meds? smhair

That's not good, slz. Time to call the doc. Are you depressed or manic?

Right now I am depressed. I see my doctor every other week and so far he has not been concerned but I am. I have not been working for 4 weeks now and am afraid when I do return that I will not remember how to preform my job. I also am afraid of other things like where my son is or who he is with. I am also experincing anxity and panic attacks it is a big mess in my life right now. I was also thinking maybe because so much is going on at one time that my memory is just failing me because I worry so much. Just wondered if the meds could make me forget.

Hi slz,

I have experienced memory loss issues when I was on Lithium in the past, but it was not as bad as you describe yours to be. But I would definitely mention it to your pdoc if it continues to be bothersome.

Shoot!!!  I forget if I have memory problems!!! tongue

Seriously though...I have memory problems too!  I too have mentioned it to my pdoc a couple of times and he still doesn't seem too concerned about it either.

It is worse for me when I have lots of things on my mind which seems to be all the time for me.

Some days I am keen and right on the ball.  Other days I am a complete mess!

Let us know if you find out anything new if you were to mention it again to your doctor.  I've given up and just assumed it goes with the territory?

Thank you both for replying,
I will keep mentioning it to my pdr untill he gives me a defint answer as to why I can not remember that is if I can remember to ask him. It worries me so most likely I will remember. I aso do not have good or bad days it happens everyday and about as bad. I have been on Lithum for 3 years now and never noticed a problem. My dosage has not changed. The only thing that has changed is my klonopin what uped to 4mg aday from 2mg and he added lexapro back into my already feeling overdosed line up of meds. Thought giving this info might help.
