My son in law was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder about a year ago and was  prescribed lithium. Now since he changed jobs, he no longer has insurance. does anyone know, if there are any agencies or hospitals that prescribe it without insurance?

hi. im not sure i can help, but i at least wanted to say i read your post and im sorry for your son-in-laws situation. i wondered if you might have a clinic in your area who at least gives meds at a reduced, sliding scale. also ive seen commercials about the program started by montel williams to give people meds. for free. i dont remember what its called but ill bet you could google his name and get the info. also, doesnt wall-mart have a program where alot of prescriptions are only $4.00?if its not wal-mart its one of the large pharmacies. i hope he gets the meds he needs. and it looks to me like he has a fantastic support in his mother-in-law.

lithium is available generically and there are lots of pharmacies with $4 programs. Try looking into Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc...
