I am new been reading the forums for a month now and got lot of useful info but everybody's situation is unique so here is mine.
I met this really loving and caring girl in April she lives in a neighbouring city we both absoloutely clicked the first time we met and as we progressed she told me everything about herself and her illness she didnt say she was bipolar but said she has chemical imbalance 3 months later she moved in with me and we had times of our lives, I didnt know too much about her condition and how it should be managed but I knew we have to discuss it, but she was feeling good and we loved each other, she stopped taking her meds or changed the dosage she was on abilify and lorazepam then in mid september it got bad she is on disability and she cant work she told me she has to go back home and fix herself I didnt wanted her to leave but having some understanding I said to her I wont keep you against your will but I really dont want you to leave and she said she really have to go so she left didnt hear from her that she made it home or not, I texted her she did replied back with the text and after couple of text she stopped I called her after couple of days and she said she was sorry she havent been calling me and we talked every day for few weeks and then one day she said she is not coming back and I should not wait for her, the Dr's did not see her fpr 3 weeks when she left from here and she told me they didnt changed her meds but added something to it and would not give me the name of the drug and then she stopped talking to me we are going on almost 2 months since she left and I havent spoken to her in 3 weeks now the I called her home phone so that I might be able to talk to her mom or stepdad but nobody answered she called me back few minutes later and said not to call her mom as she has nothing to do with this and told me she dont want, but I told her I will not breakup with her and she said she is going to hangup now.
I know she is seeing a therapist and I think she put her with a peer specialist and which I found out about peer specialist they are someone who has suffered menatl illness themselves I know BP's go through this but all I want to know whats going to happen how things going to progress I dont want to leave her because she is nothing like I have read and seen but she has distant herself from me I would love to get some input on this

Hi slystrong,

Welcome to HealingWell and the bipolar board.

I'm sorry your girlfriend left. It sounds (unlike with some bipolars) that she's pretty definite about what she wants, even if she didn't go about leaving in the most direct or kind manner. She may be having an episode and that may have caused her some emotional upheaval, but she's asked you to stop calling and she's being clear about that. I think you need to respect that. If she changes her mind in the future, I'm sure she'll call. But two months is a long time to be holding out hope. You will be happier in the long run if you accept her decision, however much it may hurt, and try to move on.

Best of luck,
