Hi Red lightening,

I like your title of this post, "Brain Riot". Never described it that way, but I know exactly what this feels like.  I'll have to remember that phrasing! LOL

Does your klonopin help you take the edge off or is it not working?  Do you take it 3 times daily or only as needed?  Are you currently taking it on time and as directed?

I take xanax 1mg & it gets into the system REALLY fast.  It only last about 4 hours but like I said, starts working right away.

I would take a pill, get onto the couch, lay down with a pillow under your head and legs outstretched and put something soothing on to listen to like soft music or a quiet T.V. program that is relaxing to watch and start to take deep breaths.

Try to get everything off your mind and concentrate on your breathing or the program you are watching. When other thoughts come into your mind, try to get them out and start refocusing again.

Other times, I just stop everything I am doing.  Work around the house can wait, dinner can be ordered out and I just start to craft or even color in a coloring book! :o)

I've gone to the craft store and purchased some really easy and cheap stuff that is easy to work with.  I'll purchase some cheap acrylic paints & brushes and start painting old glass items, cans, etc.  Or I purchase, glue, white cards w/envelopes, colored markers & pencils and make "Hello, Thinking of You" Cards, B-Day Cards, etc.  You can draw your own designs or pick out some individual design sheet paper designs and start cutting your own stuff and pasteing it on the cards.  Oh, the water color pencils are FUN!

If the klonopin isn't working maybe you can ask your doctor about replacing it for you.

I hope some of this helps? blush

Sometimes my mind just will not shut off no matter what!  I know exactly what it feels like.  So sorry this is going on with you now, but I hope you can find a way to calm it down soon.  I am still looking for that calm, though it is better.  I just started Saphris, which is a new drug, have had mixed reactions, but overall no really bothersome side effects which usualy make me stop taking my meds.  I am not a good patient.  PDoc appt. tomorrow, hoping to get out of work for a while until I can get stable.  when I slow down and do not lead such a hectic life, brian riot not so bad. wink Hope today is better for you Red.

Thanks kindred spirits!

I actually took a klonopin and fell asleep for 2 hours...I'm not used to it yet.
But the sleep helped. I had been up since 4am and was ragged tired.

I have started painting again...oils...I am going to an art class today...
my teacher is a classsic realist while I'm an abstract artist learning realism...
lots of drawing...tedious but rewarding...

I'm supposed to take the klonopin 3x a day but that seems rather excessive since
it makes me so grogged out...we'll see. I took 2 yesterday.

Today is a new day and the sun is yellow and happy and so am I

Good!  Glad to hear it.  Paint on......................  I make hand made quilts, draft my own patterns and scale them.  Have not picked that up in a while, only to make a few wall hangings.  My last "unfinished" project is a star quilt, the star covers the entire bedtop and is lavendar-black-creme.  Hopefully I can finish it soon!
