I buy clothes, purses, shoes...all in provocative styles I wouldn't
be caught dead in if I was normal. The last time I went on a little
spending spree was 4 months ago and my husband and I spent
the whole next day taking it all back...then I got put on a cash
allowance and had my credit card taken away for a little while. But
being on allowance has helped me really prioritize needs and wants.
So it's all good!

I go on hypomanic (and manic) spending sprees.  I stalk the Internet looking for mostly clothes that I don't need.  I typically forget what I bought until the UPS man arrives with package after pakage.  I really went nuts at Christmas.  Anyway, in my more lucid moments, I ofter return stuff or just hang in my closet with the tags still on.  Or I buy stuff for the horses.  I have 2 horses. 4 saddles, umpteen bridles and lead  ropes...on and on, I am afraid I don't know of a good eye cream...not that I haven't looked. Unfortunately I don't have the money for these spending sprees.  The only impulsive big ticket item I bought was a car (that I didn't need.  OH well...happy spending and if you keep your spending to skin products (depending on the price) just wait out the obssession...it will end.  Just like all our moods do.

I literally almost bought that ticket to Paris last week. I'm not kidding. Only talking to my husband and mother in law helped me avoid it. Still might... Escapism is my favorite spree. But I also bought a kitten last summer on a whim. I've heard of people buying houses and cars, too.

Rather than go on a shopping spree, I am more likely to get rid of everything. I can't tolerate "stuff" when I'm hypomanic and I have a (temporarily) spotless house. :)

I'm big on thift store shopping and such, I won;t pay full price on anything, but all the small items add up. I'll blow 100$ at walmart and the goodwill rather then 60$ on a single pair of jeans at the mall. My internet shopping, ebay and amazon.com gets out of control, but I'm religious about paying the bills ontime, sometimes to the point that I pay them way ahead of time so that payments get doubled in a month and there's nothing left for gas and groceries. It drives my husband nuts when I do that, so I tell him what I need each paycheck to cover the bills, then he adds in spending cash for me to spend or save.

You asked about a car????? That would be me! I went to the dealership test drove a Dodge Ram quad cab 4x4 and went back to the dealer told the salesmen that I wanted it. I had no job so I used my husbands income to get it. I then had them deliver the truck to my house the next day. That afternoon when my husband came home he was looking through the sunroof of his jeep as he passed the truck looiking up at it. He then asked me who was over I said "no one that is mine". He was so mad but he let me keep it and I hatted that thing eversince i bought it. It is gone now but when I am hypo or just manic I end up at a dealership. I have also racked up ccards with junk that at the time I was sure I needed but now it is sitting in a closet or in my basement. I also bought 2 dogs at seperate times but I just obsessed over everything even the fourm looking to answer peoples ? or to see if someone replyed to mine. Don't do the poo they may look in the jar and find the supprize whouldn't that be an interesting news story for a slow news day!!!!

I met a guy online and after only a couple of months purchased a roundtrip ticket to Alaska...I spent my whole paycheck. Needless to say I woke up and realized how crazy that was and ended up with airline credit. As far as eyecream's and face stuff I swear by Mary Kay's age defying line. I am 34 and still get carded for cigarette's....
