Hi, I'm Bundle, new to the site.
I got diagnosed w BP about 8 or 9 months ago I guess.  Been fiddling w my meds for a while, yesterday my psych added Prozac to my Lamictal and Wellbutrin.  Has anybody been on this cocktail?  My mania stays away for pretty long, but depression holds on. I also have ridiculous PMDD-which I think sets off the lingering depression. Anyway.
Been seeing my awesome psychologist for about 5 and a half years.  Started off because I was depressed. overweight, and purging.  Then my marriage of 25 years ended, then I did some self-harm for a while, shopped myself into bankruptcy, blah blah blah.  On the positive side, my marriage really was bad, in the course of therapy I came to terms with many years of emotional battery, which I still work on today.  And my doc got me to start painting as therapy and I discovered that I really love it, I'm pretty good at it, and it really helps when I use it.
I have a 25 year old daughter who moved into my nest about 6 months ago- for the most part it is great, just normal ups and downs I think.
That's enough I think for now, I'm excited about this site, it will be good to connect with other people who "get it"

Welcome, and nice to meet you. Glad you are hanging out here and hope to hear more from you. Your story isnt new around here, being BP generally means having to get knocked down before you understand what the problem is and finding a way to get some help. Still its great to have new voices and exeriences around here, cant wait to hear more from you.

hi Bundle.  I like your username.  Welcome.  Thanks for your kind words on my thread.  I came through an abusive marriage too.  You can't scare or shock us around here.  I'm pretty sure we've heard it all.  :)

Welcome to the site... I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago with the bipoar thing and everything suddenly made sense. I get the PMDD, I thought It was just me. my moods become erratic a week or so before my period. If I'm already in a low which is more often than not, I can feel when it's about to get worse. I try and warn my hubby, that it's not a good time to get into arguments around that HE doesn't always take those warnings seriously, but I notice I'm more easily irritable. The site is helpful at getting your feelings out there.

Welcom!!! I am sure you will find this site helpful and user-friendly as far as the people on it. I was diagnosed get this....20+ years ago and I have been on every drug cocktail known too doctors. I did find the anti-depressants like you were on definitely lifted my mood but sometimes too far into mania. Right now I am on lithium, klonopin, kamictal and seraquel, and been in thus cinbo for over two years now and seem to do OK, but I do tend to rapid cycle. As time goes on you will learn your BP..what the triggers are, what meds seem to work, that roo much or too little sleep can change your mood. I suggest getting a couple good books ( has a good selection) and educate yourself on BP as much as possible. I have found knowing the disease is the best defense possible. After 20+ years of this, new things still pop up and I still have my unstable times.

Hi Bundle,

Just wanted to say welcome to HW. This forum is one of my best sources for support in my life with this illness.

Never be afraid to post what you are feeling, thinking or wondering. We really do "get it" and that is what we are all here for; to be here for each other.

I got through an abusive relationship too. It sounds like you are doing all the correct things, esp with the therapy.

Well, just wanted to say welcome, take care,

Bipolar II, Anxiety/Panic Disorder
Clonazepam .5mg as needed, Methoprazine 6 mg/day, Lexapro 10 mg/day  & Lamictal 400 mg/day.
