Hi guys,
Most of you are aware that last week my Mom was dx'd with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She is starting her radiation tomorrow and chemo next Wednesday.
I am asking you all to say prayers (if you pray) and send some positive energy and hope our way.
I am still having my bouts of crying; but I know I need to try and keep her strong.
I emailed pdoc on Monday and he emailed me back right away telling me to come see him in two hours that day. So I saw him; he told me to take more Clonazepam if I need to.  He suggested counselling if I want to or when I am ready to talk more about it. He spent some time with me, let me cry. He told me that "I have tremendous resiliency" and that "I am a real survivor".  He told me he knows I will be able to get through this. It was really good to hear that from someone who has been my support for 9 years.
Anyway, I am going to see my Mom today as they are having her come to the hospital to give her some pain meds via IV.
Thank you all for everything.
(((hugs))) Mogs

You are stronger than you think you are.

Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. It sounds like they are being really aggressive with this, which is a good sign. My late husband died of lung cancer and they didn't even bother with the chemo because it was too late anyway. So being that they are doing chemo and radiation, it sounds like there is hope.

Keep posting, and know that we are all here for you. You are a special person Mogs, never forget that. Your mother is lucky to have you by her side.

Hugs, Karen

I am overwhelmed with blessings from all of you. Thank you all for reaching out to me. It is making me feel so much better reading things from each of you. It really is a good sign that they are doing treatment instead of not doing any treatment. I am holding onto that and hoping that the treatment works.

I can't get enough cyber hugs from all of you. Hugs are also really helping me.

horse crazy~I can't tell you how much it means to me that your friend will be gathering others together to pray for my Mom. That is just so much comfort and gives me so much hope. Thank you so much for taking that time for my Mom; you were so kind to do this....Thank you.

Bill, you know how much I love looking at pics of that gorgeous pup of yours, and seeing your smiling face in pictures brightens my day too!

I will keep you all posted. Her radiation starts today.
I am charting my moods and huge amount of panic attacks. Some days I am rock bottom depressed, but so far today I am feeling not too bad that way....The panic attacks are unreal. I've had to really step up my clonazepam.
I am so lucky to have all of you supporting me and all the others in my life who are pulling for my Mom to survive this.
Sending many thankful hugs to all of you reading and responding.
